tagbox.io: A memzo.ai Alternative for Photo sharing with face recognition
(2025 comparison & pricing)

Memzo is genuinely impressive at quickly delivering personal event photos using advanced facial recognition. Its standout accuracy (99.3%), even under challenging conditions like blurry images or side angles, makes for a smooth and reliable guest experience. The privacy-first design, ensuring guests only access their own photos, further enhances user comfort.
While Memzo a solid and affordable solution for small, private events, it does have some limitations when used in more business-oriented scenarios. Here is some feedback we've heard:
Why You Need A Memzo Alternative
While Memzo is a one of the most affordable options on the market, it does have its downsides: from our own experience, it seems that the app can be a bit slow, with facial recognition specifically taking a while to work.
Also, the interface seems a bit dated. It's definitely not a dealbreaker, but when talking about event guest experience, details definitely matter.
Other than that, it does what'd you'd expect: guests can take a selfie and get their photos. The facial recognition is pretty accurate (as can be expected), and guests can download or share their photos.
For personal use, Memzo gives great value for money. But when you're spending a lot of a large-scale conference or corporate event, you might start seeing the limitations:
❌ Photo quality issues
Similar to social media apps, Memzo resizes your photos. This is fine if you're hosting a private party, it might not be the best option if you need to use these photos for business or marketing purposes.
❌ No rael-time uploading
While upload is straightforward, Memzo does everything post-event, missing those critical few hours when your guests are more likely to view and share them.
❌ API to integrate with event management apps
If you're working on large events, you might be working with an event management app, either in-house or otherwise. Won't it be great if your guests can see their photos instantly in their photo section, instead of using an external tool? For that, you'd like a more business-oriented tool that can integrate with other tools.
Tagbox.io - ai powered photo management
Launched in January 2023, Tagbox is a modern solution designed for teams managing large volumes of photos. It integrates advanced AI technologies such as sophisticated photo search, automated tagging, and facial recognition. This ensures users can quickly locate the appropriate photo when needed. While transitioning from simple photo storage to comprehensive photo management does have its costs, Tagbox is considered one of the more affordable options within its category.
Real-time uploading
Connect your camera straight to Tagbox.io to have your photos delivered to guests in real-time, when they matter the most and are most likely to get viewed and shared. This feature is critical for enhancing attendee engagement, providing instant social media content, and enabling rapid communication with sponsors and media.
Pre-made VIP collections
Selfie mode is great, but for your speakers, management team and other VIPs, you might want to create an even more personalized experience. By adding them to the Database before the event, you can share a collection that contains their photos, without needing to even take that selfie every time they want to view their photos.
Tagbox.io also supports more advanced situations, e.g. creating an album for a couple, or even and entire family, containing all of their photos.
Automated sponsor collections with custom AI tagging
If your events are sponsored, you'd want to give those companies a unique experience, getting them to come back and sponsor your next events. Using a unique logo recognition AI, Tagbox.io allows you to create a collection for each sponsor, containing all of the photos that showcase their brand.
Native video support
Other than photos, you can directly upload your videos to Tagbox.io. This is in contrast to Memzo, where you'd have to first upload them to another service (like YouTube), and then use the link to show within the app. Tagbox.io also support facial recognition in video, even if the person only shows 2 minutes into the video.
Pricing and plans
Tagbox.io’s pricing is transparent and available on its website. It has 4 different plans:
Solo Plan (free): 1,000 items and 3 users - the best free plan for small, one-time events.
Studio Plan ($150/month): 5,000 items and 3 users.
Company Plan ($250/month): from 10,000 items with unlimited users, with expansion options.
