What’s new in Tagbox / new upload flow and performance upgrade

At Tagbox.io, we're always striving to provide you with the best tools to manage and share your media files efficiently. But while new features are always exciting, we know that most of the time your just uploading, organizing, and searching for assets - and we believe that basic experience should be no less than perfect.

Improved Upload Flow

Tagbox.io is designed for large asset uploads. But due to the time it takes AI to do its thing, the upload process was a bit slow, and honestly, somewhat frustrating.

That's the price of AI. While magical, all that search, face recognition, and custom filers - they take a while to get done. Up until now, you had to wait for the AI finish before you could add tags and organize your upload. But not anymore - you can now start tagging within seconds, and all that AI stuff - that all happens in the background, long after you've gone back to doing other things.

In practical terms, what once took 30 minutes to upload, can now take 3-5 minutes on a fast Wi-Fi connection. Yeah, we know. Have fun uploading!

Massive Performance Boost

Even more than uploading, searching through assets is the #1 thing people do with Tagbox.io. Until recently, every time you opened a file, it took a good 3-4 seconds to load. While that might not seem that dramatic, those seconds quickly added up into a less-than-perfect user experience, and to be honest, we did find our designer audibly counting her mississippis.

That why we've decided to overhaul our entire infrastructure, upgrading the basic services that make Tagbox.io run. And it paid off - opening a file, or navigating back and forth between assets, is now practically instant. We do this because we don't just want Tagbox.io to be useful - we want it to spark joy.

Zoom into Photos

Attention to detail is crucial, especially when working with high-resolution images. Our new zoom feature allows you to quickly and easily zoom into any photo by simply hovering over it and scrolling. This functionality is perfect for those moments when you need to examine the finer details of an image without opening it in a separate window or downloading it. This, to, is designed to save you that extra step, and make sure you find the perfect photo in a heartbeat.
